    Summary

    It's been some time I had been gone, so I don't know how is situation in Crysis nowadays, so it would be nice if each of you wrote here what you like over our network and what you dislike and what would you like to see to make it better? I hope there are still people with real opinions, not just purposed hate here. Which features would you like to see in future? Also you can write your personal opinion about this network, but I would really welcome new good ideas! What do you miss here and ingame?

    OK, so some ideas which i have just in mind. Let's begin: > ideas about sfwcl (mainly for you Zi): - map-downloader should contain map name in its window - fix the clients validation on NATed servers (OpenSpy has NAT traversal, so players can create their servers even without public IP but sfwcl doesn't send validation info (profile ID) on these servers because of port mapping by NAT traversal) - fix the bug, when server changes map (client doesn't have it) and it doesn't automatically start downloading the new map (you need to manually double click on server to start map downloading) - move Lua part out of Crysis files (main.lua, ...) for easier using sfwcl on useless GerCry servers (it would be nice to have some alternative to their multiplayer "patch" - downloading ~2GB of shits just for playing on those useless servers doesn't make sense... anyway this "patch" contains only CryNetwork.dll with changed few strings, LAWmod (cheat) and some maps downloaded from Internet (you know, it's super-ultra-uber-professional work :D), we were testing this with Aleksandr and it really looks like only modified CryNetwork.dll and maybe that LAWmod are needed to make their Protect.xml happy (maps are not needed and map downloader from sfwcl can download them as needed) so making sfwcl valid for their anti-cheat allows us to have finally one working way how to play Crysis MP) - maybe it would be nice to have map-downloader just in Crysis console without creating its window on desktop - the second "maybe" idea is creating something like CryMP launcher, just single .exe file which manages everything, players don't have to install anything, don't have to use link to Crysis.exe with "-mod sfwcl", only clean Crysis and this launcher ===== <Warning_Technical_Info> ========== It should also search for all Crysis installations and offer starting it with CryMP client, showing version of it, checking file integrity, no-dvd patching (because of Windows 10 and its blocked SecuROM), automatic UAC prompt as needed (e.g.: map-downloader), automatic folders.ini mod to have separated folder in Documents for each Crysis installation/version, .... Searching for Crysis installations can be done with parsing MFT table on NTFS drivers (ultra-fast way how to search some files, it takes only 1-3 seconds to find any file on disk). GUI created with pure WinAPI (like map-downloader) to avoid installing some strange things like .NET or some GUI libs. The bigest problem is how make in-memory sfwcl for this launcher (especially Lua part without creating any files in Crysis directory).     My part for Comrade 1. Fixed that typo 2. I removed old "7" from SSM tutorial. It was there before in case it wasn't generated automatically (to make sure that it's content is right). I had some problems with it 2 years ago I had to remove, recreate, change content - but you are right = Latest SSMs doesn't need checking that at all. This file should be there without any actions required so I've removed that point from tutorial. Thanks for reminding. === BTW. I don't have any requests or ideas myself. We've made with Zi TONS of things in 2014/2015 (I still have that to-do/done list - if someone needs it I can send it - 95% was done so I consider it as success). It was hard to somehow "force it", ask for same things all over again, discuss - just to have them done before end of 2015. I felt sometimes like asshole who wants it to be done because of time pressure. You know. More you want to do - more hate you get insted of understanding. So I won't ask or request anything more as I promised in January already. Even though I have still ideas and another fixes on my mind - but forget it. Won't hear it from me anymore :) === PS: ONLY PROBLEM I still see here though is unfriendly servers on classic list. I still have qustions about (believe me or not - every month I have at least 2-3 questions about it from new players, and probably 20 other who don't ask quetions just never join network again) . The problem is that classic, in-game list is showing also servers which don't let players join as we know. No idea why they blocked it, we've been talking about it many times last year - but it's not my problem anymore since december. Admins don't want players. It's not my business. I've closed this period. But still IT'S VERY !!! CONFUSING. The real problem is that new people are being kicked out and they ask me if it's normal (I have to give the same answer all over again individually + explain whole communities situation). You know what I mean. I was pointing out this possible fix few times before. Last time in december without final answer. Probably it's not possible to fix/change anyway. So I won't do it anymore. But this is the only problem users are asking me about on Youtube, e-mail or via "Help request form". Beside this one EVERYTHING IS PERFECT and nothing is confusing anymore for any new player. But since It's about openspy.org - I don't know if that would be possible to easily show on that classic list only right, accessable servers. I wouldn't even bring it out again BUT I'm afraind 50% of new players who are trying access those forbidden servers (because they see people on-line there) - simply leave whole network without trying to wait till weekend and enter events. Of course 99% of people don't try entering empty servers, so after failed access to those restricted servers - they simply think whole network sucks. They return to play CS and Minecraft. Bringing back classic server list was great job, even I've finally switched to it in 100% lately. But at the same time (because of those restricted servers) it's a kind of suicide mission of CryMP.Net. Mission that is very successful unfortunately :( Still is :( Ok. That's all. Sorry for taking space of this thread but that suicide problem seems quite huge as "network assassin". Anyway - any requests from users are welcomed od course. Let's see what people need. I don't believe users care anymore about anything new, extra functions or details we were working on for last 15 months - but still - who knows. After watching events, every week - I can say number of players is still around 10-12. Can stay this way for years.

    Hello everyone! I've just seen very interesting ideas for network improvement. I want to add something about, "Player Protection". I mean there are certain things on these new servers, that may not behave fair when playing. For example: 1. (*In Power Struggle). Once I played in !HS Air Battles - Shore Hotels, I bought a Gauss rifle in a bunker, then it spawned. But it had no ammo in it (i thought it was forbidden for this map), then tried to buy ammo on PDA and automatic. But it didn't buy. So I tried a few more times and nothing happened. But the matter is, when I was trying to buy; prestige points were decreasing as normal "shopping". Then I lost prestige points for nothing! This same thing happens to vehicles in Vehicle Factories! You stand, try to buy, money loss, but for nothing. (AAAs and APCs) 2. (*In general gameplay). I'm not sure if this is because of my internet connection, but some shooting bursts look like shotgun bursts. When a turret or player fires at a target, it looks like a shotgun burst; not linear rounds going through the air. I mean, these are just visual details that make difference. 3. (*In network). You said it before. When my client opens a new map, on rotation; it starts a download. (Because I don't have it, obviously). But, sometimes when you cancel a download on desktop (as it always shows), or the link is broken, or it says "map not available", then the game crashes and I can't go back to Crysis window again. It's annoying! I have to restart! 4. (*In general gameplay). There are lots of fu***** cool maps in my directory installed! But most of them are unused. Get it? There are dozens of maps available for playing, and we're all still playing in the same 10 scenerios. Well, that's what I've seen. 5. There should be more assistance to new players. Publicity. Community should guide them through this proccess of knowing, game mechanics, pro-players, older players. So they don't leave us inmediately. -:LOL:- The other day I was playing in T-Battle, with a player named <SABAD75> or something similar. When he entered, I killed him 4 times in a row! -XD XD-. Then he got pissed and said! "FUCK GO!" -:lol:- And he left the game. Now, the last time I played on 6HQMapsRotation - Graveyard or something, I got a PING of 5000 (FIVE THOUSAND!!) and a disconnection. (I could hear sound effects, see other players moving, fighting, but I couldn't move, fight, chat or anything). Then I said: NO MORE! I won't play anymore until I could get a better computer, and a better connection! So I've been abscent in the last few weeks. I've been a little busy. And maybe for the next months. I really want to be part of the community and a pro-active user. But for now, I stand down and keep watching. Cheers! ;)

    For Heager only Hi Heager again :) Just few words from me. 1. Well actually you don't get the name of servers right. Name of server is "<FP> Air Battles". It's not on !HS servers but on <FP> (Fair Play). And those settings were alredy changed 2 weeks ago back to normal. Just for 7 days few things were forbidden there to buy on that server because of Fair Play rape by some ignorants. Some idtios were using AAA, Gauss, Moar and Moac + insulting others non-stop for 3-4 hours every day for a week - without any respect to others - so because of that map was unplayable for other players. This is why some things were OFF for few days there (unpossible to buy). But last 2 weeks it's back to no-restrictions and all weapons are available as they were for last 2 years on this map. BTW the first time you were on Shore Hotels - and we've met that day ( Mid february - you know that river bunker chat with me about Crysis MP fast movements) - Server had also standard settings that time. It was your second day in MP as you told me there (before we went to HQ IA Rotation for training) so you probably didn't check all features of standards of Shore Hotels. But it's all normal. Let me know if you see some errors there. 2. No idea what's that. Maybe it's your PC. 3. No idea again. You're the first one I know with this kind problem. Maybe Zi knows what's that. Never heard of this presonally. Very strange reaction. 4. But how? There are probably around 100 maps in rotation. People can play anywhere they want or make their own servers with 300 maps even. But remember basic rule: "Empty server is empty only because you don't enter it :)" One more thing. We've made all those map rotations. Prepared custom maps (Youda on !HS servers) added some new server side mods (Zi on Zi's servers) and I've prepared for my <FP> servers - just for the network - around 20 different type of maps + 4 brand new game mods - and guess what? = 95% of players want to play only 3-4 classic maps all the time. All over again :) So what more can we do about it? :) 2 years of work is enough - the rest depends on players. If you love the game and want to play it for next few years - please bring some friends who like to try new things in Crysis. New mods and things are coming, but regular player doesn't care about new things at all. Unfortunately. 5. We were teaching new players (me for around 5 years including GameSpy times on <Fair Play> Jump and Fly School server). For last 2 years we were making special servers for beginners in this network - but pro killers always could enter there (when admins were off) and instead of teaching and helping newbies - they could simply kill newbies 30 times in a row - so we can't do anything more about it. The thing is admin is required to controll it and give extra help to newbies. But then again people who are good fighters hate admins who care about respect for newbies - so it's killing the server and leads to empty network :) Believe me. There is no way to please everyone. We've tried very hard. Has to be the way it is. BUT - You can be the one who will teach and help. You think why Crysis MP is so empty during the week? The answer is - because most of servers are unplayable for new players. They run away and never come back after being killed. I've been working on this problem for 1.5 year. All I got for it was just hate so I can't do anything anymore. I even made Friday Event newbies friendly - 9 months ago - but it didn't work out of course because the idea wasn't respected by so called "pro" killers. So this is why now it's not for newbies anymore and new people are leaving after 20 minutes and 30 deaths in a row :) Any suggestion ? :) I don't think so :( So. Please give a good example to others - the way we were trying before - every time you see that some player is a beginner - just ask him if he wants to learn (the way I did for you during you first MP week in february). Teach him basics, help instead of killing him. It's easy to recognize a beginner. I know some people can kill you hacker instead of listening to your words but believe me at least 50% will always listen and learn. So this is what you can do to solve this problem. People are going to like you for being their teacher. And maybe some of them are going to stay in the game even for few months before leaving. Sounds crazy but I saw it few times :) Most beginners leave in 2 weeks after being killed 300 times by "pros". Sad but true. Unfriendly place for beginners but you can always help - simply going easy on them. Think about it. Anyway. I hope you're PC and connection is better now. Good luck in the future. Summer with Crysis is coming. The fun depends on you man. Bring your ideas and have fun :)

    Since you've asked :) That would be great (not necessary though) but good thing about autodowloader window that we had for last 1.5 year was that it has only basic info in it and doesn't require any clicks/confirmation (It should stay this way - I don't think name of downloaded map should be displayed - since it would display path not real name of map which wouldn't look pro - besides player can see which map is on server that he tries to jon so no need for that). Only bad thing about autodowloader we have right now are: (1) That it hides game for a while so maybe if it was possible to make it the way you say would be more friendly (2) That it changes/forces size of window to full screen for a while after downloading map and opening the game again. It's a problem for players who have Full HD screen but are using Crysis in 1280/720 window mode - they will always get unnatural enlarged window with large unanti-alliased/not smooth pixels - enlarged to full screen (tested on 3 PCs for last year so I'm sure it works this way). Well that's not huge problem because it's just for few seconds while map is starting - afterwards it goes back to small window and stays this way while playing on server BUT if map doesn't download for some reason and map missing red screen shows up - they can't use game menu because everything is unclickable (misplaced because of this unnatural full screen thing). So newbie players can't even close the game or go back to desktop if they want to start the game with their kind of window again :) So would be better to remove from client this "auto full screen" command unless it's needed for full screen users (like I was for many years) somehow and without it they would always get windowed mode. But having autodownlaoder which doesn't close the game, shows only window (like it's right now with basic info - that "map is being downloaded - please wait") - that would be a progress after this one that closes the game and starts it again depending of map size and connection from 5 seconds to 5 minutes. Like I said. Not necessary but would be really pro looking and even more frienldy for beginners. But less info in autodownloader window is always better and not disturbing people who are just here for fun. So you can try that thing you were talking about if you have time for it. Anyway it's great enough now.

    Yes, it should be user friendly, but maybe just little name of zip file in window of map-downloader... :) By the way, these problems with game window and game itself will probably be even worse in future. It's because of modern Windows. Microsoft is doing some strange things nowadays... :S

    I forgot to mention. New thing - maybe 1-2 weeks - Is it just me or autodownloader (last few days/weeks) is not showing progress bar while downloading? Only when extracting the map at the end it's fine I saw it a while ago already (no idea where it started) but untill I had question from the guy who said that autodowloader is not working and sent me screenshot of this "no progress bar" downloading - I didn't think it's a problem. Now I had to explain him that downloader is downloading fine - just not showing the progress bar - and all he has to do is wait till it starts the game again. So this may be the problem for some new people here. Some will just close downloader while downloading heavy maps (or map packs) because they'd think it's not working :) You know people have no patience nowadays.[/b] What is the reason ? one of client auto update changed it ? I hope it's temporary thing because before that dowloading progress was working perfect for almost 2 years.
