What do you guys think about adding private messages system on this forum?
You could easily send messages between group of people or only 1:1.
It would be Christmas gift from me, when I am here back for only few days again.

❤️ 0- My opinion about it - Well sure it's some idea. It works fine on Crysis1.com - from time to time registered users can ask admin or each other about things. I use it often but... Yeah but... I'm not sure it's good idea here right now. All because of dead forum that we have. If we give another form of communication with admins and the community than official one - open for other visitors (unregistered) - this forum will finally die. I'm sure. Right now when somebody asks me on Youtube how to solve problems with his game - and I can't help him I always tell him to ask on forum of CryMP.Net - so he asks here - and 700 other people can answer or at least see it. With private messages he will send question only to 2 or 3 people - Probably they will help him - but others won't see the answer so forum basic functions of our forum here will be killed. I have better ideas for things you can work on if you have few hours of time before your long break from here :) That thing that would help forum - the one we were talking about on Skype last month - I mean the flu time :) - right before I gave up Skype for weeks and still can't use it. I mean of course problem that only one thread is showing in each of the category on main forum page. Most of people watch only main page of forum - because of it's construction. So if you post 3 threads today in one category. Only last one will be probably checked by 99% of users. Because only this one is displayed. And can be even worse - because people can create 10 useful threads in one category for example on sunday and on monday some guy will answer some 3 months old not important thread - and of course nobody will even know that on sunday were created new threads. This construction is killing the forum because sometimes old threads have higher priority than new ones. Less important things sometimes (old questions for fun or just very random) are displayed over questions about important things. I mean like Youda's thread as an example. Or somebody asking for help with some Crysis issues. The easiest solution to solve it - that I have sent you last month was just show more "latest answered threads" in all categories. With this setting - creating even 4-5 threads in each category a day will show them on main page - so theese won't be hidden under SINGLE LAST ONE. Of course it can also works like that portal system on Crysis1.com - as you know - that is showing latest posts - no matter which category they are frome - always shows 5 or 10 latest answers - so checking each day - users can see all that's new. But I think this first solution (saving your old stucture) where you can see more than one latest answered thread in each category can be easier to make and more comfortable to use. I told you last month that I was trying to change it there myself - but of course it didn't work because I'm not good enough and there are things in your code that I just can't manage easily yet. This one is for sure one of them :) So this is why I was asking for this change. After you finally make possible to see for example 4-5 latest threads in each of category on main forum's page - I will set some styles for it to make it look more compressed and comfortable to watch. This will bring more life to forum and will be much usefull than private messages right now. The idea is to make this website and solution ALIVE Right now - there are 5 ways to show that it's alive: 1) list of event members that changes each day 2) list of players on Stats that are changing 3) Real time Chat where people talk sometimes with latest dates 4) Servers list with active players on-line (this is fail lately) 5) Forum - which in my opinion is most important. Because even if we had only 4 active users of CryMP.Net (from 700 registered ones) they would be able to make website alive - Because just 4 active users can exchange infos, photos, videos, tutorials, scripts on forums. No limits of ideas what can it be. 4 are enough for forum. Even if they don't play at all - they still make this place alive and when someone comes here for the first time - he is able to see that there are many new messages every week. Even if list of players is empty this still works and is displayed all day and all night, with dates. Just waiting here to read it or answer (for registered users). This is why changing this little thig in forum is so important over other things on website - Forum it's one of the best ways to keep it alive during hardt times on servers with only around 10 players playing on events. Think about it instead of private messages system now :) Private messages can come later as an option (for example for some group of users - between admins, moderators, active users, whatever) if needed of course. But as I've said before private messages will hide correspondence between players for ever. This place will look dead. It will be like with Skype for last 5 months - we had our 2 groups with many users - and we were talking every day for hours about things to make work in solution. - But belive me - people from outside (I talked with few of them during that time) - they thought it's all 100% dead they saw only empty servers - it's all the saw - because they didn't see anybody talking about Crysis anymore anywhere. They didn't see us exchanging detailes all the time (of course some things should be private but not basic ideas). It all should be shown here - thanks to it people will be sure it's not dead at all - and will see that people still want to talk, that things are evolving all the time, etc. Thanks to it new users or those who came just by the way, or have never heard about Crysis and came here just by mistake - will see that people still argue about Crysis, discuss, agree or not about maps, servers, ways of playing, new ideas - this is LIFE of this game also. Even if people are not entering servers - it's the way to keep the subject alive on forum (like our hidden for world conversations on Skype). And still we talk about the game all the time but we don't do it on forum - this is big mistake. Because all those full of life discussions were lost on public Skype channels or Youtube comments already - All should be here. That would be amazing base of info. It's 2 late for that now. But still we can build new base of new conversations, pictures, videos right on forum. Anyway this little modification of main page would be nice gift from you to this website. But it's only my opinion :) It was what I've posted as an example on Skype last month :) Of course it will be styled later. Just main idea of it for 3 last threads in category (here shown only for "General" category). Can look better after setting styles for this version. I can later change width of tables to make more space for threads with dates and athors right after the title.
❤️ 0 - OK, I tried to do something as you can see, and now it shows last 3 updated threads in 4 weeks since latest post in latest thread.
❤️ 0 - Thanks a lot man (sorry for dalay - I slept from 8:00 - 13:00 because of Crysis today). It's really good enough. Now it makes sense - all we need to do now is post things from time to time and finally all new things will be shown on forum's main page - easy to notice for all :) I'm still styling it a bit, but it's already looking ok. Thanks.
